I got a chance to use my new Tejon for ten hours this weekend and found it to be quite a detector. After I got the hang of ground balancing, it is really a simple detector to use and the depth is unbelieveable. I set the primary disc knob at just above foil and the secondary disc at tab. I checked all signals with the toggle switch to see if I still got a signal. If I didn't get a signal, I would slightly turn the primary disc knob about half way to nickle. If the signal broke up or left, it was most of the time a nickle. There is a real fine line here, but I seemed to figure it out very quickly. The trigger switch makes for fast checks of signals. I purposely listened for weak repeatable signal in both modes and I quickly found out this detector will go DEEP, with very good discrimination on the deep targets. I have used all the other deep detectors in the past and the Tejon will compete with any of them. I dug a brass rivet that was eight to nine inches deep. I dug three wheat pennies that were all eight to nine inches deep. I was digging in dried out clay soil that was as hard as concrete so I know the coins weren't falling around in loose soil. One thing I don't like about the Tejon is the upper friction knob keeps loosening up and it developes a wobble. This is very distracting to me. It seems to be built just like all the other Tesoros that I have owned and I never had this problem. I dug an old pocketknife that was an honest 12 inches deep so I guess what the relic hunter out there were not exaggerating. All in all this is in my opinion the best detector that Tesoro has ever built. R.L. Johnson
