after about 10 hrs.on panasonic batteries the machine will sometimes start to chirp and sound off erraticly.the only way to stop it is to cut the machine off and to turn it back on,has anyone experienced this problem.it still beeps 5-6 times when you turn it on so the batteries still seem to be good

Is this while you're hunting? Are you monitoring your ground balance?

Have you tried decreasing the sensitivity to eliminate the "chirping"?

Are you hunting heavily mineralized ground?

Hi, I Had Troubles With The Cheap 9 Volt Panasonic Batteries.. They Tested Good On My Seperate Test Meter But Somehow They Develop An Internal Connection Problem.....My Guess Is Change Battery Brands I No Longer Use Them Because Of This Problem......Hope This Helps....JJ

I own the Tejon. Have found it so sensitive that it will pick up electrical interference from power lines in one area that I hunt. I have to move at least 50 yards away from the power lines, then the Tejon becomes stable again. I have decided to hunt powerline areas with my conquistador. This could be an issue that you can consider. Ground conditions, ground balancing, sensitivity settings could be the other. You may want to try some other hunting grounds to see if the stability is better.

i guess i will have to try another area to see if it was the mineralization, the ground around here is in some areas a little above average and i did have to reground balance every 10 minutes or so .

Hi There
I may be off the mark in your case, i own a Vaq not a Tejon,if you have tried the above, test the Battery's with a volt meter, with the Tejon switched on, i have been told the Vaq works at just over six volts, not sure about the Tejon,

What you describe is pretty much the response I get from my Tesoros when the battery is about gone.
