Tejon dual disc question

Neil

Well-known member
I just received my Tejon today, bought it used from a forum member and she took very good care of it, it looks new.

So I was testing the discs on it, see how it compares to my Vaquero and I found this happens: I can disc out a zinc penny in disc 1 , just like on my Vaquero.
But in disc 2 , I have to have disc 1 set at foil or higher for this or the zinc penny comes through. When I hold the trigger forward(disc 2 set at max) and slowly dial in more disc from disc 1(just out of all metal) I can hear the disc starting to take out the zinc penny and then at foil its gone, like it should be. I guess this means the two discs are tied in together.

Does anyones Tejon disc 2 take out a zinc penny irregardless of the disc 1 setting?

Rain all day and tomorrow so Ive got to wait a few days to get out and give this a workout:surrender:

Doesn't sound quite right.

They are supposed to be independent. Check out the manual. The manual has you set the disc 1 at iron and the alt disc to SCAP and see that you can detect all targets except iron in first discriminator and then only a quarter in the alt disc.

I'd recommend calling the factory and talking to them.

I tried it again after I posted with several zinc pennies and it worked as it should so I must not have been pushing the trigger forward all the way is all I can figure out.
Really glad to see it works right, those are the parameters Im looking for when I jewelry hunt, between small iron and zinc penny. Sometimes I do the dig all but prefer this method.

tvr I found the part you mentioned in the manual, thank you. I also set it up the way the manual says for airtest before I tested the second time.

Thank you,
Neil
