Tejon depth

Can the Tejon with the 10x12 coil get at least 36" on an aluminum can? I'm thinking about it for hot weather and long days cache hunting. Your input is very welcome. Looking for light, deep and a big coil.

The 12 x10 coil for the Tejon is a double D coil and in my opinion, its not any deeper than the stock 9 by 8 UNLESS you have really mineralized soil conditions. I am curious, why do you want to find pop cans at 36"?

If your goal is dig targets that big and that deep, your best bet would be a two box detector.

I have less experience than many on this or any other MD forums.
Yet I've read quite a few anecdotes.

I would be very suspect of ANY clams about a machine that would reliably find a can at 36 inches in real soil.

Good luck to you, though!

Well the Tejon is what Tesoro's rep recpmended to me as their machine witht he most depth out of their entire line up. It also has crazy amount of ground ballance adjustment so you can basicly handle almost any location on earth. Now bear in mind that this is just me parroting what Tesoro told me. So if light and powerful is what you want then that is really going to be a hard combo to beat.

I realize the soda can is a representative target...

Never dug anything that deep, pretty much because I don't want to!

Now, IF I were in CW battlefield area, or some place similar, my whole perspective on detecting would most likely be different.

Is there anyone here who is consistently digging that representative target from that depth with some machines other than a two box?

I realize a cache within a chest, canonball, or a locomotive could possibly be located much deeper...

Some fellows say the 15" coils are getting them much deeper on the powerful machines...
