Tejon, Cortez battery compartments

Jerry Ga.

Member
Does anyone know of an effective way to temporarily weatherproof the battery box's on these detectors. The control housing can be covered with the availible rain/dust jacket, but the battery compartment under the armrest is a problem. Several years ago I got caught in a rainstorm with a 1266 and had water enter the battery compartment causing some nasty corrosion. I am almost tempted to trade the Tejon for a Vaquero so the control housing including the battery can be protected from water, but then that would be losing some depth and performance that the tejon delivers. Any suggestions or advice is welcome.:tesoro:

Thanks, Jerry
