Tejon coils

foreign object

New member
My Tejon came with the 8x9 Spoked concentric coil but I don't really see much talk about it. Was wondering how it compares with the 8" round concentric coil as far as target discrimination and pinpointing. Would assume that there would not be any real difference in depth but correct me if I am wrong
Thanks
FO.

They both get about the same depth. I like the brown doughnut better because it's lighter without the coil cover. It could be just me, but targets sounds a tad bigger when using the brown doughnut coil. The inter receiving antenna coil wrappings are larger around on the doughnut than the web coil. It can get closer to wall than a the web coil can to detect a target. There's not really a hill of bean difference. I just like the brown doughnut coil the best.

It seems no matter what the factory puts on as a stock coil people think there is something better.
With the Tejon and the factory 8" X 9" concentric coil the factory did a really good match up! the coil is light!
You can pin-point most of the time in discrimination mode!
Its deep!
The detector/coil combination seems to me to be well balanced!
The coil seems to separate well in moderate trash!
Overall I really like it, in highly mineralized soil you may find a need for one of the Widescan coils.

thanks for the replies guys. I will save my meager funds for something more worthwhile. Have been enjoying using the Tejon. Don't get me wrong I really like my minelab but it is refreshing to use the Tejon and when I am not on a major silver mission the Tejon will be the machine of choice.I did find a 22 merc at about 6 inches with it the other day. Signall was good enough to dig but I could tell I had two targets. Sure enough out came the merc. stuck the TRX back in the hole and got a hit in the side of the hole. Stuck in the wall was a rusty nail about 2 1/2" long. Also dug an old pocket knife, padlock and several pieces of small square alum about a 1/8" thick.
It was fun and relaxing.
Best to all.
