Tejon and water

Clev

New member
Can the Tejon be used in water? Not the whole detector but for searching creeks in lets say 2 feet of water..

Hi clev;
I wouldn't, I did and it got wet. Water will run up rod and into the box when you pick up.
Maybe 1 ft. and don't raise coil higher than the box. Get a hip mount or better yet a water detector.
Willard in Spokane.

But like Slowmotion said, you have to be careful. If you raise the coil about the height of the control box water can run down the pole into the control box. As long as you keep the coil down, you should be fine. It is best to tie the machine to your belt with a lanyard, just in case you were to lose your grip the machine would not fall all the way into the water.

What Tesoro needs to do is make an underwater machine with the Tejon inside.

The Tiger Shark is very deep with the old Bandido guts (so it seems to say at the Tesoro site). But put the Tejon guts inside that waterproof box and dig for China.

Exactly! I have hipmounted the Vaquero by removing it from the box, using the spider coil with the Long cable and Chestwaders... ThePoorman's Vaq. just keeps producing!!! Great on rainy days,too!!!
Now to devise a 'Hat' to get the control box up on my head!!! Anyone have any ideas???... thanks...Rich
