Tejon and silver coins

WV62

Well-known member
I was wondering if anybody out there is doing any good finding silver coins with the Tejon?

Thanks

Ron in WV

In your updated testing, did you try some silver coins or just clad? I wouldn't think there would be any difference, but it is silver we're going for.

Also, while you have the "HOT" little WideScan coil mount it up and try it on your 10'X10' park square and see what comes out.

Here is the current testing results, that I did to include the 5.75" widescan coil my brother MarkCZ brought over. I retested all the Tejon coils because I could remember the test items that I used the first go around.

I also included a picture of the test items.

Hi Ron, I hope someone chimes in on your question regarding silver coins and the Tejon. Ive been wondering the same thing, given its high operating frequency.

Thanks for the air test info, it appears the tejon has no issues seeing the gold, especially with the little widescan!

I don't know about silver coins but check out the trade silver that Stinkfoot has found on the thread "Any Tejon experts out there"

I haven't had my Tejon very long but have found 1 mercury dime at about 8 inches deep with no problem at all.

Believe me guys, I am far from any expert. But yes my T has found me a fair bit of silver coins. This year I worked a particular field with my A.T.Pro. The last two years before that I used my Tejon. I will try to dig up a pic of my Last year Tejon silvers from that field.

I am in a small town that has been worked hard. I was quite delighted with last years silver with my Tejon. The tiny coins in the second row are called ''fish scale'' nickles. Sterling silver and smaller\thinner than the dimes above. The T has no problem picking those up.
