Tejon and power ground balancing, I give up

I have tried the power ground balancing several times now and it is not for me. When in disc mode there seems to be no problem, but when I get one of those targets that is hard to pin point in disc mode and I switch to PP all metal it is pretty well screwed up.

Think I will just stay with standard ground balancing by the book.

Probably the best thing to do is set the ground balance to neural or just a hair to the negative side before flipping over to the discrimination mode. As long as it's not positive, you shouldn't lose any noticeable depth while in the discrimination mode. I've been playing around with the positive and negative ground balance to see how it affects depth and false signals. You can do this while swinging a coil over a target. The optimum setting is where there's no false signals without losing much depth.

Thanks tabman, that sounds pretty doable without giving up anything. With that power balancing I was pretty much giving up the all metal PPing.
