Tejon and iron

My Tejon hits pretty good on iron. There are some good iron artifacts but you don't want to be digging iron all the time. If you sweep over a coin with the tip of the coil it sounds good. If you do that over iron it breaks up.

Coins do have a sweet sound but sometimes iron sounds to good to pass up. So this might help from not digging so much iron.

Also if you raise your coil and its still sounding good and loud a foot off the ground can be an indicator as well. But occasionally there is a good target close to the surface and sound good a foot off the ground, but may get an overload sound when coil is on the ground. Anyway, another way to play around.

I had some luck with my tejon at sites I hit with other tesoros and brands. Trashy iron laden perimeters of old home foundations. I no longer have that tejon but would not mind trying another again

The best advice on using a Tejon in iron that I know of is to get a good pair of high end headphones made for detecting. I use Grey Ghost originals, but I would think that other brands will work equally well. The key is the ultra fast response that this type of headphone gives you, it makes the crackle of iron really stand out.
