Tejon and deep targets

What is the best way to setup the Tejon so that you can figure out if your target is below a certain depth? I know that discrimination typically subtracts depth, so there has to be some way to setup the two discriminators so that using both to establish and then check a target, you can get an idea if its below a certain depth (established on my machine after running a couple of tests). Is this possible? If not, is there a way to set it up so you can hear the difference and tell if its deep?

Don't know if it will help but you can set disc one to use VCO and 2 to use regular disc. I have done this but I don't remember exactly how, or how it worked... but I do know you can do it. You may have to use AM on disc one but I am not sure. You maybe can set VCO in disc and then disc two will still be a regular tone... but i'd have to check, or you can... this may help.

In any case VCO should help even if you have to turn the tone to VCO on a suspected deepie.

As I sweep, and while continuing to sweep back and forth over a target, I continue to raise the coil and see where the signal starts to drop out and size up the target too while I'm at it, taking into consideration target size & type in relation to depth

Tab-nabit's method can be used with any detector. A great technique to add additional information or help verify what a depth meter may say. Also helps pinpoint accurately without using a pinpoint, particularly with concentric coils. I use the coil raising technique to get a spot on pinpoint with the Compadre.

With the Tejon, running VCO mode gives a lower pitch for deeper or smaller targets in pinpoint mode and higher pitch for shallow and big targets.
