Tejon and 5.75 coil

Canewrap

On a Tejon, what kind of depth does the 5.75 concentric get compared to the stock coil in moderate to good ground? Almost as much (just 1-2" less) or does it only get about 7" or so? I know of a site that is practically carpeted with small iron and nails and the good targets are about 8" to 9" down, under tree roots. I tried my X-terra with its 6" DD coil, but it just wasn't getting quite deep enough. But if the Tejon small coil will be able tell me the difference between iron and non-iron at 8" I will get one and try it out. Anybody with experience on the small coil?

In mild ground I found only about an inch in depth loss over the standard coil. Where I got a chatty response with the Tejon at 10 on the sensitivity with the standard coil, I could run the 5.75 into the red. Crank up the sensitivity and make sure you overlap your sweeps. I've pulled out nickles with that set up that were surprisingly deep. Tejon is not quite as deep on dimes, pennies and quarters as it is on nickles, but still does well.
