Tejon Air Test

Yes sir there sure is an awful lot of hype to wade through, my own field tests confirm that all things considered the TEJON is #1 MXT #2 Explorer XS #3.

While it's not as good overall as the Tejon, that MXT is an impressive machine. It's just not my thing (those sounds). After using the Tejon I'm spoiled.

I honestly don't know what people see in those Minelabs. Their depth isn't that great, they're heavy as lead, pinpointing stinks, screen ID's are way off (II,SE), and they take forever to learn (if ever).

I have a Vaquero and get 14" (air test only) on a quarter at max boost, all metal mode. But I understand the Tejon is most likely better.

My Tejon air tests a quarter at about 14", disc just above foil. My Xterra 70 sees a quarter at 15" with proper ID number in disc mode, 18" in prospecting mode with stock coil. I love the Tejon, but the 70 is perfectly balanced, light, ID is great, easy on batteries, and the pinpointing couldn't be better. In my opinion, the Explorer sometimes gives Minelab a bad name. Yep, it's heavy and has a high learning curve. The 70 is just the opposite.
