Teeny Weeny Silver Charm and more...

Today we went down to the local sports oval to see what we could find and had a pretty good day out. We've been there a couple of times before, and I'm sure there's still a LOT to be found. My wife found a neat little silver charm of ... well, you can see the pic. Funny! She also found an old silver band which has seen better days and 1948 & 1953 Pennies. I found a very worn 1916 silver Florin and a nice condition 1931 Shilling. While I was showing her the Florin I had just uncovered, she quickly gasps and starts running off, about 30 feet away she spotted a $5 note laying on the ground! So much for the excitement of a big, old silver coin.
By lunchtime we had nearly $47.00 between us. Not a bad way to spend a nice cool sunny morning!

After a bit of research, I found that the little boy charm is actually of a quite famous statue in a fountain in Brussels called "Manneken Pis".
An appropriate name, eh?
