Tearing It Up With The Excalibur...

Critterhunter

New member
I don't see any problem with saying this in an open forum, because nobody knows what friend I'm talking of or what state he's in, let alone which of about 12 beaches that are within about a 30 to 40 mile radius to where he lives...But he's been pulling the bling out of the water with his Excalibur for about 3 weeks now in heavy numbers.

He found a cut in the water (where the sand had been eroded away) and worked it hard for the past few weeks. That cut has since filled back in, so there is little risk of me blowing his spot because nobody could find it now anyway even if they knew what state he lived in and what beach he was hunting. I never like to share my friend's spots with others unless invited too, thus the anonymity to him and his spot.

Anyway, from memory, he's got the following...Probably over 2K in scrap gold weight of rings and a few gold religious medals, perhaps 3 to 6 or so silver religious medals, around 3 to 5 or so silver rings, like 6 or 7 silver Washington quarters, several silver Rosie's and mercs, a few other assorted pieces of gold jewelry, and to top it all off a silver Franklin half dollar!

Makes me want to get out and water hunt more when those cuts show up. A local friend had told me of one he was working and having some good success in and when I showed up his too had been filled back in. Next time I won't hesitate. He didn't do as well as my other friend did at his site but he still made some great finds too.

Just goes to show you guys, when you water hunt your machine can pay it's self off in a day's time. Of course it can do that on land too, but much more chance of that in the water on any given day IMO.

Well, living in New Mexico, beach hunting seems like a fairy tale at this time. Do have several relatives along the west coast of California so maybe one of these days.

Chicago Ron, whydah and Goldinwater are about the only ones i know that can pay one off in a day with consistancy. I will say if you are going to water hunt buy the best you can.... it wil pay for its self. Im a blind squirrel.... took me 2 weeks to pay mine off...... and that was a handfull of rings, not one or two guys. Some can do it with a stick...... others, well they are still looking. Dont run out and buy and Xcal thinking you are going to get rich..... especially if you are a weekend hunter. Thats keeping it real.

Sounds like your friends are doing great. Its a bit slack for most of us right now with all this sand in Florida. Nice to see someone is bringing it home.

Dew your right about the beaches being sanded in the last time we had a huge storm to rip a few feet off the beaches was Hurricane Gloria 1986 out here at Eastern Long Island also known as the Playground of New England i can only imagine what is under a few feet of sand over the last 27 years , Rons newest video is unbelievable how many virgin beaches are left like he and his partner found back a few months ago on the Great Lakes using there Excals that video knocked my socks off :twodetecting: Jim

Ive watched Rons ring counts this year i think hes been real busy not as many as previous years. But they sure bring them in. I love a good vedio or picture of finds that knock your socks off. Ron and the great lake guys bring in some OLD rings that arent seen much.... but outstanding finds. Considering they dont have a real long season they really kick butt.
