Iv,e just got myself a TDI SL to use at the beach over here in the UK two questions i need help with
firstly what after market coils are available and what would you recommend for the beach ( wet sand )
secondly where could i get a 14.4 volt battery for the SL

Pete,contact Regtons.......they will answer all your questions.
I believe there is a large selection of aftermarket coils for the machine and I believe you can also use minelab gpx mono coils on the whites without any mods.The 300 coil that comes with the machine will do great on the wet sand anyway.......it's deep and sensitive.
I use a 300 on my bhid over here on the beaches in England and to be honest I don't really want to be digging any deeper than this coil goes.

As far as i am aware you cannot get a 14.4v battery for the 'sl' model as they are 12v but i stand to be corrected,i have a TDI Pro version that i use with 3 GPX coils on,the 14x9 Coiltek,15x12 Commander Mono and a 18'' Detech Mono,also have the 2 factory 12'' and 7.5'' DF coil as well.If you shop around on Ebay you can pick some bargain up.

The Whites TDI on the UK beaches is a quality beach machine,you wont miss much with one for sure.

Hi Mega there was a guy doing the 14.4 batts for the SL but he apparently wont post outside of the states, there is a mod you can do on a dry cell pack which looks quite easy to do so im going to try that

When i was going down the 'sl' route i was [planning on using the stock battery and also a RNB battery pack from my DFX as well so that i could gain a full days detecting,had a go using a sl over the weekend and its a really nice machine to use,very deep as well.

Not really sure how to get get the 14.4 battery packs for the sl,but transporting these type of batteries is the biggest problem,my TDI Pro was possibly the last one in the UK and was lucky that Whites also was able to get a spare battery pack shipped over as well,from what i can see they dont even advertise the Pro version on either the UK or US websites.
