TDI, MXT SAFARI & GOLDBUG

White's TDI handles hot ground, EMI and finds targets as small as #8 birdshot. The only DRAWBACK is the lack of a disposable battery option. How do you recharge in the field? A solar panel?
white's MXT is supposed to make less noise in hot ground than the X-Terra 70 and the Spectra V3. Is this with the stock concentric coil? Could the MXT do even better with a DD coil? The Fisher Goldbug Pro is supposed to handle hot ground with a 5" DD coil. Could the MXT find targets just as small and do just as well in hot ground with a small DD coil? Conversely, could the Goldbug do as well as the MXT with a larger coil?

Dave Johnson, who worked on the GoldbugPro, says large nuggets are rare and we need to find 1 to 10 grain nuggets. What are the smallest finds with the MXT and goldbugpro, anyone, and what size was your coil?

A Minelab Safari found small lead shot and plated bb's, I assume with the stock coil. How does it do with a 5" DD coil?

I can only answer one of your questions and that is on the TDI/TDI Pro. They both come with two batteries and a charger. I have to assume that you will get to your hunting spot in some kind of vehicle with a 12 volt battery and many of us has a 12 volt to 120 Volt power inverter, fairly inexpensive at any of the WalMart, KMart, Target stores. While using one battery the other could be on the charger assuming you have already been hunting all day and had run the first battery down. After running the second battery down, the first battery should be charged and ready to go if you are not dead from total exhaustion already.

A lot of nugget hunter use the MXT with the 6X10 DD and have posted some very small nugget finds, I believe as small as a half grain, but you could ask about it on the MXT forum.
