TASTIEST PART OF THE SEASON

And I aint talking detectors! The best part of summer besides water hunting is the produce. Here, for your approval, is todays straight-from-the-garden goodie.

Tomatoe, Cucmber and Vidalia Onion Salad.
Ripe tom's from the bush, one cucmber and a vidalia onion (store bought). Toss with juice of one fresh squeezed lemon, olive oil, salt and fresh ground pepper. Chill and enjoy.

I make something similar, but along with some bell pepper thinly sliced and some chunks of celery. I use red wine vinegar instead of lemon juice and about a tablespoon of sugar for a sweet/sour flavor.
The hardest part is the chill, you just want to eat it right away.
Ain't nothin' greater than a homegrown tamater!!

Sounds good! Try adding a little of that chipotle you guys favor down in Texas, too, BCD. Get the kind that say "en adobado" on the label of the can.

Sometimes I chop just a bit of cilantro into it as well.

I prefer my famous "chefs" salad that I make often to go with barbecued steak. It contains lettuce, green onions, tomatos, mushrooms, radishes, sliced olives, shrimp, diced cheddar cheese, and doused with one's favorite salad dressing. Tis "yummy."
