targets in the 40s

Anybody finding anything good with tid readings in the 40s. Since getting this wonderful machine last spring, I have dug literally hundreds of targets with readings in the 40s and every single one has been trash. All good stuff has been in the 50s and higher. Keep in mind that I do not hunt relics, only coins and jewelry in the parks. Thanks for any feedback given.

Maybe not treasure but I had a strong clear signal in the low fourties and 8" down was a lid from an old wood burning kitchen stove! That was a different kind of find...

I've been tecting for more than 20 yrs, have kept all the rings I wasn't able to return to their owners. I tested the smallest very fine gold rings i've found, a couple register 43 to 45 on my atpro, many around 50. Some of them had diamonds, others birthstones, some no stones.

Well I dig almost everything above foil with any machine some nickels are dead on 53 but I have found plenty of nickels in the 40"s in (Pro Coins mode) deeper nickels 5"+ are 42-53 most times on a normal swing the tone is broken & choppy but if you go real slow you will get a better tone but the vdi is still not right low 42-48 but after enough digs I some how just know its a nickel. and if you want small gold chains or small gold rings start digging Foil & Pull tabs you will get lucky some times and find one but I will bet you past up more than you will find Good Luck Keep Diggin.

It is like any detector...you gotta dig some trash to find the treasure...My 14KT two-tone (white/yellow) Gold ring with 1/10th CT diamonds rang up as 42 on the AT Pro...
Most of the targets in the 40-48 range is foil, gum wrappers, or small bits of can slaw, but I will dig 100 of these to get a good ring...

HH,

The 2 small gold rings in the front and the gold earring stud---low 40's. Both little gold rings together weighted 1.8 grams

So, on the gold rings & jewelry, is the tone scratchy just like a pull tab or can slaw?? I'm getting nickels and have found a couple of junk rings, but no gold yet.

i would say in any mode other than pro 0 a nickle, small rings and chains run the risk of a broken signal at normal sweep speeds depending on conditions gb, emi, moisture, and so on

big gold you will dig you just haven't put the coil over any yet or it hit like the last 50 pop tops that your not digging today. (medium 14k white Gold) screams pop top.

small rings and chains just ring in low most of the time. conditions may change this.

I usually go home with about 20 foil finds until i start passing them up. lol

In Pro Mode, low 40's finds ......

Sweet little rings dig that foil. It takes patience, hard work & some luck to find little gold.
