target trace

I have notice you can tell if a target is long or round using target trace.1 target under coil say a bottle cap will splatter horizontally both ways but a nail will splatter vertically one way and horizontally the other way.Coins don't splatter.SO if you have a nail and a coin under the coil at the same time you can tell which is which by circling the targets. Anybody else see anything to this effect or can add to this .Thankx

That is interesting and I haven't noticed the splatter variation. I do notice bad targets with iron usually do splatter though. Great assistance method.
Thanks for the tip, I will keep an eye out for that.

How deep does target trace work for you? It's early in the process, but I'd say around 6" or 7" - no direct cutoff point, it just dissipates with depth.

I too have noticed that rusty nails bounce straight up and down.. The old rusty bottle caps seem to do that also for me as well...

I dug several screw cap that didn't splatter a bit. So far it was just a certain type of beer.... Not even my favorite beer! Lol

Yes Earthman it does dissipate with depth for me to .I can lay a 16 penny nail over a dime and scan east to west and not a peep will be heard but south to north it comes in loud and clear. On the splatter of the bottle cap this is a rusty cap east west north south splatter is horizontal .However on a nail east west it nulls hardly a peep no splatter but south north splatter runs vertically ,Pull tabs don't splatter either so maybe a new crown cap without rust or if it's aluminum will not splatter either. This is with combined fast on ferrous coin open screen.SO it does pay to work a spot bought ways going by what i see. Also digging12. 28 to 12.32 which i don't do is where pull tabs are mixed in with coin signals and i will start digging more of these because i don't get many in this range mask is mask just got to dig some junk to get rewarded.
