Target separation, search modes and response.

Good day!

1) It is written on one forum that in LowTrash mode device uses mostly high frequencies and one can find smaller goals.
There is no information in the instructions about it. However, I would like to find out what changes in the device when choosing one or another setting of target separation.
F.e. on XP Deus you always know what frequency and reactivity you set. In the instructions to 3030 is stated vaguely that in HighTrash mode the speed of response from the target increases.. nothing else..

Which mode of target separation is better for

Depends on the mineralization of the beach. If it is what is commonly referred to as "black sand", then Ground Coin might provide the best results. However, the majority of salt water beaches I've visited have very mild mineralization. At those sites, I've had better results using Low Trash and a minimal amount of discrimination. JMHO HH Randy

thanks

Is there an easy way to determine how mineralised a beach or field is ?

Yes, if your running your sensitivity in Auto +3, and your highest sensitivity is say 14 and below, then the mineralization is high.

I am normally running in manual at around 20, sometimes 22, if it gets noisy then I turn down to 18.

thats great information.

i will try that in the morning and see how it goes on standard, i have been using ground coin for a while now.
