Target masking:please:

I was wondering if anyone has experienced masking problems with the Lobo st especally with the 9x8 concentric coil? My guess is that if one is experiencing masking, the solution would be to did every target or hunt in full metal mode. Also, I don't like digging big hole and would like some ideas to better my skill at this.

I saw your earlier post about the 9 x 8 coil and if you do have a lot of targets under the coil at once, it can be difficult to figure out what the detector is saying. I had fits in a couple of places when I first got my Tejon and was using just the 9 x 8 on it. Then I got a 5.75 inch concentric. The 5.75 inch coil, working slower and when needed lowering the sensitivity, all helped. The 9 x 8 coil is a very good coil but there are places and conditions where the detector works much better with the smaller coil.

Try using a 5.75" coil.

It makes a big difference,

I agree, the 5.75 is a great tool in an area where many targets are present.
I've not found much depth loss either.

When I first started detecting I figured bigger is better. Well, with some years of experience under my belt I can truthfully say I had it wrong. I use the stock and smaller coils much more than I do larger ones. Trashy areas, ease of pinpointing, lighter to swing they just fit a lot of my hunting better. Large coils are good if you need to cover more area in fairly clean fields etc. and fit the need for many relic and cache hunters, but for general hunting and coin shooting I love my smaller coils.
My two bits.

Another agreement for the 5.75 coil here also.

Target masking to me is one of the biggest obstacles to try and work around.
