Target ID's and WM10

I recently started using my WM10 with iphone earbuds to get away from headphones. I notice right away the target ID's seem to differ from those of the headphone era. Is it just a time of year thing (I hunt the wet sand of southern CA beaches)? In addition I'm not hitting as many bottlecaps. I have not been using discrimination and don't dig iron targets. Silver used to be right screen and have often moved mid-screen. Haven't hit any gold in months (no 12-13 targets). Towards the end of my last hunt I turned on discrimination as it seemed all targets were sounding as iron but some were silver and I was missing them as I was just going by sound. I normally work Aliso beach and the high tide has reached the parking lot so areas that were usually dry have been consumed by the waves. Not many pennies and months ago besides nails from the firepits, all I would get. Now I'm getting mostly nickels I guess because they dont sound like nails. But quarters and dimes used to have distinct audio signatures and now have moved to the left. I notice a very slight delay in the audio - probably because it has to hit an internal threshold before it goes through the bluetooth system. I havent yet tried an open air test with without WM10 yet - curious what others have experienced.

I don't have an answer, but I will contribute another major factor that affects tonal response: everyone hears differently based on their genetics and life history(damage in various frequency ranges). What is true for 1 person may not hold for another.

If by 'to the left', you mean the actual screen target ID numbers have changed, and now are numerically lower...then:
Sounds like you might have a bad coil, to me...have you got another you can try?
You may want to check to make sure the coil connector is screwed in tight, as well.)

I've never seen the use of the WM10 cause any effect whatsoever to the screen TID...might be coincidental timing.

Good luck,
mike

I second Mike's advice to check the coil connector. If it worked loose (happened to me) you will get unpredictable results.

Are you running high trash mode? That seems to change the responses. Double check all of your settings.
