Talking about gas prices.

I know some people who work in refineries. They say the gas we burn in our cars and trucks is a waste product. Expensive waste huh? I wonder how many people have lost their jobs because they couldn't afford gas to get to work. $50.00 to fill up is an absolute crime. It cost more to drive to the restauraunt than to eat! You know, if we could organize, just for one week, or less, and not buy fuel. The price would drastically drop overnight. Its not a production issue, its a GREED issue.

The price for an Imperial gallon of gas (a gal. + a pint or a quart - I think it was equivalent to) was 2 pounds sterling 50 pence (then the pound to dollar ratio was about $2.50 to a pound sterling) so gas was VERY expensive. The military gave us gas rationing books to help make the price a little cheaper so we could afford to get back and forth to work.

Riding a motorcycle then was great because of the miles per gallon - but certainly less safer as the drivers of cars and trucks didn't see you or care to see you - they just wanted you out of their way.

I predict we will be seeing more motorcycles and even more 'scooters' (that don't have the need to have a special license to drive them like a motorcycle) on the roads very soon. Time to be a motorcycle salesman!

Canadian money. Which is still about $3.35 US.
The whole thing is nuts.
Someone better come up with a better fuel source soon or the whole auto industry is going to suffer.

Just like back in the 30's and 40's only the rich could afford to travel and see the USA....now, only the rich will be able to travel and go wherever they want to go in the USA or overseas! I still say reduce the price of gas and give everyone rationing stamps and therefore it would be equal for all!

God Bless!
