Talk about mixed emotions

Pete in MI

New member
Yesterday Sherry decided to get some fall color pics. We went down to the Grand River by the dam and was taken aback by how low the water was below the dam - not only could one see the bottom in many places but there was a guy with waders on fishing down there. I mean he looked like a small animal from where we were standing.

I was surprised that Sherry came up with this thought before I did. "Ya know Pete, I bet you could find some really good stuff down there with your water detector and waders."

So we are all set to go this morning to see what I can find. The emotion of excitement is mixed with extreme caution. Any rain, any slip of the foot or some guy deciding to open the dam could spell TROUBLE.

Hoping to find some interesting stuff. Probably mostly sinkers and hooks/lures but who know may find some gun tossed in the river to hide the evidence of some crime - or maybe some old items since the river has been here longer than the first foot print of man in this county.

Wish me luck and pray for safety.

Thanks - and BTW I sure have missed all you brothers and sisters in Christ in the past month. Have to work this afternoon so if I find anything it may be tomorrow before I get to post anything - Sherry will be taking pictures to post too.

Hey Pete!! Our dams down here usually sound a warning before releasing water. They also have a phone # you can call to get a schedule for when they release water. Good luck!
