What settings are good for learning the detector? I will be hunting an old ball diamond where I have found some pretty deep Barber with my Explorer. Loaded with trash.

i mostly run a neutral with the threshold at 2 o'clock position, sense around 8-10 and the disc at the line before nickel. dig everything so you will start learning the way the tone sounds for different things. after a few outings doing that, start playing with disc knob on targets to see where you loose them at. the ground balance is like a radio. when pumping coil, on the down stroke, tone gets lower or silent, GB needs to be turned up. tones gets higher, GB needs to be turned lower. be surprised with how many people have a problem with that. it is so freaking simple. haha

Thanks for the info. I had a pretty good day and will post my finds in a little while.
