Taking the "S" out of LOBO (Variant B)

So, I couldn't leave the thing alone. Don't blame me.....blame cupajo (thanks cupajo) it's his fault, he gave me the idea! :sadwalk: A long time ago, well maybe not so long, we use to use detectors that looked like boxes of electronics mounted on "'Lil Bo Peeps" candy cane. Those detectors were very heavy so we went to "S"'s and other forms of wrist thangs! So what did the manufacturers do, they made detectors lighter. My Lobo doesn't weigh half as much as my old Judge 2. You don't need a wrist (actually a forearm rest) for these new detectors. So here is a mod that works on the Lobo. It could, I'm sure work on others. Oh, and if you're careful, it's full interchangeable with the stock "s", and the previous "straight shaft".
Questions and comments welcomed.

By the way, the medium duty pick pictured is available from "OSH" in the garden shop for about 13-14 bucks

Thanks for reading!

hehehehe.... here i thought you were use'n that lobo all this time..... i been waitin to here how well it works..... but it sure is a brilliant looking machine now....:clapping:

Yea, but then I'd have to get into the box. Adios lifetime warranty. I've heard Tesoro stands behind their products. Hey, whats your callsign, Mike. I'm K6ZL. I think GoGoGopher is a ham, maybe others. 73, to you.

Call sign here is VE1CKR ... usually on 3.770 MHz from 6:00pm Atlantic until 11:00pm , down now replacing deck and had to remove cables from shack.

Maybe catch you on air sometime, been Ham since 1989. Been MD since early 1980's. 1st detector was a Heath Kit with the push button knob on the end of handle like the Tesoro 6 knober I had, I couldn't tuned them worth a darn. Years later bought a Fisher 1265x the best detector I ever used, I still have it but needs to be repaired, and even though the warranty is over, ups brokers get involved in any shipping across the border, so I guess I'll run it like it is for now. Dam, these detectors should be the size of some the hand helds now, with all the bells and whistles. Look what's packed inside a dual band HH everything but the kitchen sink. HiHi. 73 Mike

Hey Mike, we have a different kind of treasure hunt coming up this coming weekend. I've been doing this one for a couple of years.......fun! Google up "route 66 on the air" It should be a duck shoot for you. It's hard for me with these conditions 'cause I live to close and to far away from the Ca. stations. Here; FT-450at, 813's, 4-1000, Henry, Mosley 3 el @ 35', skelton-cone for 40 & 75. I usually don't hang-out anywhere but "CQ" at random freqs., but will listen for your call. 73, dx, gud detecting.
