Taking the new Nokta Fors Core out for the first time:

I guess i'll be taking my new Nokta Fors Core out for the first time on Saturday. I'm going to the same place i've hunted for the last 4 yrs. I've hunted this place with a MXT, Fisher F70, F75, XLT, M6, Omega 8000. I have found close to 100 flat buttons, 3 cent pieces, half dimes, stirrups, US bridle bit boss, reins guides, few minnie balls, musket balls etc. There was a small civil war skirmish took place here somewhere but i've never got on it i don't believe. Pickings seem to be getting slim but that is because i've mainly hunted in one spot. I spot about 1 acre in size. There is probably over 300 acres that i have sole access to. I am the only person that has permission to hunt all this property. It is very difficult to try to cover this all by yourself. I guess i'll start back at it now with the new Nokta Fors Core and see how that goes.

I forgot i took a friend out there one time and he found a 1798 spanish reale coin. All the flat buttons dated back to 1820's. It is a really old site. Can't wait to get back out there. Just trying to figure out where i want to go there. Just too much ground to hunt there and i've been hunting it for 4 years. Usually just in the winter time because a lot of it is crop fields.

Hey Mike, if you need help with your CoRe and need a hunting buddy, let me know! :twodetecting:

Good luck!
I think you are gonna love the CoRe. It has awesome recovery speed so you can cover some ground with it.
I hunted a VERY trashy homestead today with the 11" coil because, like your situation, there was a lot of ground. Too much to cover for the small coil and yet the larger coil still has great separation in the trash and performed great.

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your CoRe finds.

I can't wait to get it out there and try it. There is actually 3 farms that i can hunt. I'm going to try and cover most of the 1st. farm in the next few weeks if at all possible. I'm not opposed to taking someone out there with me. I just wouldn't guarantee them of finding anything. I may have already found the hottest spot on there. I really have no idea what all is to be found on these farms. I guess i'll find out very soon. I'll let everyone know if i do find anything good.

Got a pinched nerve in my neck now that they say I'm going to have to have surgery on. May be a little while now before I get to go now but it will be there when I can. I hope it won't be long. Gives me time to read the forums and the manual.

I'm going to try and take the Core out Saturday and Sunday both. If i don't do it now, i won't get to for a while. I'm having neck surgery on the 2 pinched nerves i have on March 14th. I'm going to change my hunting spots on these farms this time. There are wells where 2 old 1 room schoolhouses were located. There are also 2 old houses there from the early 1900's. I haven't hunted those spots yet. I've found items dating back to the late 1700's in other areas on these farms. I hate going by myself but it is very hard to find someone you can actually trust to take along. I've hunted it all by myself so far and i guess i'll continue to do so.

Happy Hunting Everyone
