interesting upgraded ace 250??
looks good

Exactly. I realize that Garrett has their loyal fans and followers. But I need to see what this detector can do. I might spring for one, but not until a field report or two. So far it looks like a waterproof Omega 8000. Go ahead and let me have it.

Maybe I'm just Cynnical....but I have a feeling that this is simply a souped up Ace 250 with a better coil and waterproofed....It operates on a single freq. 15 KHZ.....I have a feeling that it will work on wetsalt sand but not without compromising on sensitivity and ultimately depth.....Garrett has a hit with the Ace 250 so it only made sense to throw a few more bells and whistles on it and waterproof it.....I just get the feeling that although it's a nice machine that may work well in freshwater....Compared to machines like the Minelab Excaliburs and even the Whites Beachhunter ID....this machine I'm afraid won't compare....JMHO

Called and ordered one from Kellyco this afternoon. The free Gator digger they throw in will be a nice backup for my Lesche:thumbup:. I'll be watching for the big brown truck in November :detecting:.

IF YOU ORDER IT, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE WATERPROOF HEADPHONES OR IT NOT WATERPROOF!!!!

Single frequency MD will not work well in salt water.. however, some of them with small coil and right settings can be suitable for upper level of wet sand.
I tried bunch of them at wet salt sand and so far the best machine was Teknetics T2 Special Edition with 5" coil.

Picked up small gold chain and coins near iron.. Explorer and Excal can't do that.
