I spent a day hunting a local park with the 13"x17" Smart coil, a.k.a. "portable radar dish," at a less-trashy part of the park. I love the extra space I cover per sweep; almost allows me to cover twice the ground. I did hit on many deep targets, mostly coins and buttons. I was excited to get a 1905 Barber dime at 10 inches that came in as "12-41" two-ways. The signal was consistent and strong. I also nabbed an 1894 Barber quarter at 11 inched deep! It was a little weaker signal, but still consistent at "12-41/42." All I could say was "wow!" I was running sensitivity at Auto+3, and it was hitting at 25 when I found the coins.

The coil is a bit heavy, but I find that setting down the machine to recover targets every so often gives the arm enough of a rest! I also found a few Mercs, an Indian, and some wheats. All in all, a good hunt. Wish the damn sun would come back to Mid-MO!

That's great! Big coil gets it deeper. Love it

[sup][/sup] Hi been using the 17 inch and went to a old park and found a 1905 barber too about 4 to 5 inches down. Question on the cursers, when it give a circle in the ferrous erea lower right bottom side of the screen and a high steady town and shows blue is it a good target?

Depends. Hit it and turn 90 degrees and hit it again. If you still get a consistent, repeatable tone, then dig it. In ferrous coin mode, you will frequently see the cursor go lower right blue, and it is typically caused by iron. The key is consistent, stable tone at 90 degrees.
