Hi,

What do you recommend?

I have #2 and must say it is comfortable and well balanced. Best thing is you can adjust the hand grip to suit your forearm length.
I am sure the other one is good too.

if u swing it wide with swinging arm, it hits u in the side each time.

another words: if u swing right handed, when u swing max right, it will poke u in the right side.

i think it is worth it.

Hi Alex,
I had a straight shaft similar to photo #1. While it was a thousand times better than the stock S shaft, the Excalibur was still a bit too nose heavy for both my wife and myself.
Then I bought the balanced shaft that is shown in photo #2. You can adjust it to fit your forearm length and perfectly balance the Excal. You will be able to hunt for hours on end without getting "detectorist elbow". As was already mentioned, on a really wide swing, the control head will tap you in the side, but that is a very minor issue. My wife tried it and we bought another one for her, too. Need I say more? Remember, if momma isn't happy, nobody is happy. Go with the balance shaft & you will never have to say you're sorry. And the price is extremely reasonable.
