As if we don't have anything else to complain about... :blush
I was exchanging emails the other day with some fellow Sovereign users and we got to talking about the recent format changes to the Finds forums. Most of us had to re-register. While it seemed like a pain at the time it actually took no more than a minute and in the end was rather painless. No big deal. While some of us were more resistant to the changes than others, we all eventually agreed change can be good.
With that said... we all agreed we were disappointed to see the lead-in "Tag-Line" for the Sovereigh / Excalibur forum had not been updated.
As it reads now:
"This forum is for those who have bought or "still" own the 17 frequency machines from Minelab."
While the intro is technically correct... it implies that 17 frequency machines are outdated!... "for those of you who STILL own" ___ OR___:
1) "Holy Crap, do you still own one of those... don't you know about FBS"
2) "For all you old timers who hang on to old but familiar technology"
3) "For you Minelab diehards that are to cheap to move up to FBS"
4) "You're STILL using 17 frequencys? Don't you know about the dectecotrs with 28 frequencies?"
etc... :nopity
That said... with Minelabs addition of the new Sovereign Elite and their even newer unveiling of the 2005 Sovereign GT it only seems fair to put a more positive spin on Minelabs recent R&D. In other words update the tagline to read something like:
1) This forum is for those of you seeking information on the BBS family of detectors from
Minelab.
2) This forum is dedicated to Minelabs extensive line up of 17 frequency BBS machines.
3) This forum is dedicated to the 17 frequency family of machines from Minelab.
4) This forum is for those who own one of the 17 frequency BBS machines from Minelab.
5) This forum is dedicated to the time tested performance of BBS technology and 17 frequency machines.
I think you get the idea.
NET: There are several MD'ers who post in this forum that own both the Explorer II and the Sov GT and are hard pressed to say which one performs better in a given situation. Just doing my part to defend the benefits of 17 frequency BBS technology. :clapping
