T2SE trial run tomorrow..first time out

Well guys,

Bart sent me my T2SE almost 2 weeks ago, and tomorrow will be my first opportunity to field test her....I'm excited to try her out at an old home site, then I will be going over to an old abandon school (still standing wood framed) to see how she operates...I'm hoping to find some good stuff but my primary focus is to learn her language and begin the learning process all over again--certainly different than the XLT I'm used to using...Will post any of the good stuff if I am successful.

YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY streets ahead of the Whites. My settings are Sensitivity 75 discrim 17 and sent into BOOST. it only takes 40 seconds to set it up. Very light take it slow and close as possible to the ground any number above 40 DIG

Okay folks....I took the T2SE out for its first solo run and I have a question....In the TONES setting, do you actually have to select the Bp in order to use the boost power?? I ask this because I though someone had suggested that setting Sensitivity to 50 would automatically do it--perhaps I am wrong....At any rate, my settings were DISC was @ 39 (although I did set it higher and lower to see how it worked), TONES 2+, and sensitivity was set to 85....I never had any problems with EMI...I found 1 shot mini ball (58cal) several wheaties, 1 buffalo nickle (no date), a child's copper ring, and some clad coins...I was wondering if these setting are good for finding deep items...the deepest I found was the mini ball at 6".....However, I was hunting with my buddy who has a Safari, and I was able to go behind him and pull a wheatie and the buffalo nickle....Place was pretty trashy, and I was using the 11" DD....I would post pics but the finds are pretty typical...Let me know if I need to use different settings please, and whether or not I should use the quick grab to auto ground balance or if I should balance manually..

Keith, I think what you are referring to with the '50' setting is the gain increase. Somewhere in my older posts are 2 'disc/gain' charts I posted here. (posted this info several times actually) Depending on where you set the disc level on the T2, determines its overall gain/sensitivity. The BP mode is a seperate mode and does need to be turned on to be in the 'boost mode'.

T2 ups gain at 50 Discrimination setting or higher. Most detectors lose depth with higher discrimination. T2 does not... BP(Boost Power) mode is a separate setting and independent of Discrimination setting.

Thanks guys for clearing that up for me...I certainly had it confused, and I'm glad to hear that I do not lose depth at higher levels of disc....I will make certain to activate Bp when I'm out next weekend--it can't come soon enough.
