T2 V G2

Hi Guys, Looking for a heads up hear. If money was no object which detector would you
buy beetween the G2 and the T2. I initially was going to buy the T2 but reviews on the G2
are just as good but a fair bit cheaper over here in the UK but I dont want to make a mistake
and buy a less capable machine. I would appreciate any input from anybody. Thanks.

T2, make sure I had a smaller coil for it (actually the 5" DD for either of them), and then set out to learn it. The G2 is an okay detector for many applications, and it does weigh a little less. That said, the T2 isn't heavy. It's well balanced, provides more visual display information, more audio Tone ID options, and more user controls such as Sensitivity settings for either mode.

If my pick was between the Omega and G2, I would take the Omega. I like the G2 and feel it does a great job of complementing my other detectors, but:

a.. I have and use more than three or four detectors, that gives it a better 'fit' for certain applications.

b.. The G2 doesn't get the depth of the Omega or T2.

c.. The G2 lacks some responsiveness on higher-conductive targets, such as silver coins when compared with the others.

Just personal field experience translated into my formed opinion.

Hi,
the T2 over the G2 every time! The T2 is in a totally different class.I live in England and have tried both, get a T2,personally i think its the BEST detector on the market and i've owned many!
Best of luck.

I think its the wrong question. You choosing between deep and wide (so to speak). They are complementary not competitive. They have different strengths and are the best tool for different jobs. You probably need to man-up and get them both!

Thanks all for your advice I am leaning to the T2 as I dont think the G2 is as good
on wet salt water beaches as i'm looking for a good all rounder and smw5767 from
what i've heard from other UK owners the T2 is well suited to our soil so T2 it is.

The G2(Gold Bug Pro-DP) has some advantages over a T2(F75), thus the only time I would get a G2 is for hunting low conductive small iron relics that are not too deep, low conductive gold prospecting for micro gold, more depth & responsiveness on micro gold, shallow bedrock hunting for gold, for working trashy goldfields, finding tiny gold jewelry, and lighter-weight. The G2 might be better around EMI than the T2(maybe someone can chime in about this).? Also I heard the G2 has very good target separation. But the G2 is not the best choice for high conductive coins suffering from less depth & responsiveness.

Otherwise get a T2 all the way as it is the best choice for coins, more depth on larger gold & coins, great for general gold hunting except micro gold, and best for general relic hunting. Not only better than the G2 for these things but the T2 Ltd(F75 Ltd) maybe the best VLF metal detector, period, on the market, especially for working higher mineral soils that others fail on.

I'm a great believer in ' You only get what you pay for'. The G2 and its twin the Goldbug are considerably cheaper than the T2,why? because they are NOT AS GOOD! lol.
Trust me,get a T2,you'll keep it,there is NO upgrade from this machine, best in the UK,best for the UK.

I think your right mate, anyone i've spoken to are over the moon with their T2 and have no plans to upgrade as there is'nt much out
there that can better it, especially in that price range. Yep decision made a T2 for me. I'll let you know how I get on with it when I get it.
Thanks to all who contributed and gave me their advice.:clapping:

tom! man says "send money" and he "mans up"
and buys both! heh! heh! heh!

I don't care what he says i aint buying two detectors when one can do the job of both, I dont know
about you guys in the states but we've got a massive recession going on over here so I can hardly
justify buying one tector. :ukflag:

Best of luck with the T2 Rab,when you buy it you will need no other 'second' machine,it does it ALL n' VERY DEEP!

Since there is a massive recession why are you asking for a choice NOT considering price as a variable, I am a bit confused.
They are both very fine instruments one does one thing well while the other is better at another type of detecting. Go with the one that is best for the type of hunting you will do the most often. And never mind that one is almost twice the price of the other, its only a massive recession. I was insensitive. I apologize. I was trying to be cute.
Tom the rich and clumsy Yank

PS There is no does it all machine. When you can get the other, do it. Trust me.

it's "kool" bro!
just jokin' around! ideally,"smart money" says to buy just the one detector,if you feel it will handle your needs!
don't have a problem with that! i would do the same!.."'scratch" is tight everywhere!..just sayin'

HI i have been watching these forumns for a while I own a tesoro cibola and a minelab safari with the sun ray x1 pro pointer with numerous coils ,I just ordered the Teknetics G2 It will be here monday,I believe that this new machine will do good for me .I am looking for gold machine that can not produce a True gold signal. .was going to order a se but i am highly disappointed because minelabs suck on gold ,I have a small 14kt gold bracelet that i had to pretty much touch the coil to respond although i have found gold with my machine Im bored with the minelab ,What I am getting at you shouldnt have to dig pull tabs Etc. to find gold Its 2011.The g2 in no way is the gold bug just the processor , That was boosted up First Texas owns Fisher Bounty Hunter and Teknetics ,Its kind of owning a construction company with three crews Which one are you going to keep working ????????????? The one that makes the most money ,Right ,Im going to test this machine out G2 And will give a honest review ,As im not trying to sell something here! Thanks for Reading!!Mike

The Tek G2 and the Fisher Gold Bug Pro are the same thing internally, just different externals.

The Tek T2 is an entirely different platform, but shares some of the same characteristics.
