Hello everyone. Just thought I would tell you all another story to confirm that the T2's among the Olympians of metal detectors. Yesterday I drove out to my dad's house so that I could drive him to the auto parts store. At any rate, once I get there, my mom's got some "honey-do's" for him before we left, naturally, so I had to wait around a bit. I happened to have the alien in the back of my van and thought I'd hit their lawn for a few minutes. I had previously pounded their lawn HARD with an ACE 250 and a BH 505 and thought I had picked it clean (about a buck in clad and a couple of mid-20's wheats). Man, was I wrong. By the time I brought out the detector I only had about 10 minutes to kill. Within about 30 seconds I got a strong penny/dime signal and sure enough... about 10" down was a 1944S wheatie. After covering that hole and moving on just a few feet...BAM! Another strong signal, this time alternating between dime & quarter ID. Dug it and about 8" down was a beautiful AU 1964 Roosie. By the time I had my hole covered up it was time to go...
Now, I know that these are some pretty run-of-the-mill finds, but those other detectors (not top of the line, I admit)missed them time and time again. Even the 20's wheaties I dug on a previous occasion were only about 3-4" down. I don't think I have EVER dug a coin at 10" before and certainly not with an ID that was right on (depth was more or less correct as well).
Needless to say, I'll be heading back to my parents' house before too long.
