T2 MAIDEN VOYAGE

Got about 10 hours on the t2 so far and i must say without a doubt one of the finest relic machines ive ever used. And ive used them all belive me for the last 20 years [im 37 years old]Ive tried everything immaginable.

Set machine up with 2+ tone, disc on 10,sens around 90 most of the time. little noise but thats what i like.this unit seems to run super stable under 90sens so maybe they've improved them somehow on the RF issue. I hunted pretty close proximity to large high lines at one site and i ran it there at about 85.

Did'nt find anything earth shattering but what i did find was out-standing target seperation and depth on par or better than what is currenty offered in north america.

One hillside thats been pounded pretty hard produced a smith carbine bullet at 13 inches standing on end.i was running all metal at this site with threshold barely audible sens at 93 G.B. was at 57 too deep for the target id had to get a couple of inches of the top before it said 69-70.
dug a few more small targets out of the at impressive depth to say the least.

Next was a pounded to death house site with only about an hour to hunt it 2+ tone, sens 90,gb around 65,disc 10.Had a buddy with me running a musky and he just turned it off too much iron.right out of the hole i got a good hit in the iron a pulled a glob of lead the size of a couple of minnie balls melted together at about 4 inches good hit read 70 had nails in the hole with it dont know how it was missed.the guy with me just hunted site last week for 5 hours finding nothing.the next target was a keyhole the size of a half dime mixed in the iron producinga 45-46 hit.i commented to by buddy about the way it handled the iron better than anyhing ive ever ran.[you hear the iron but its not overbearing and annoyingI mentioned] I told him to run it in there since he just hunted it last week and see what he could get about 5 minutes of sweeping he pulls a eagle shield coat size out of some immense iron we were running without headphones to let the other person here at this point. Button read 69 in all the iron 28's coming in for the nails. never seen a target id as accurate and fast as the t2 he next got a hit about 3-4 minutes later reading in the 80's i thought to myself coin turned out to be a copper disk about the size of a large cent but worn slick so no id on this. I told him at this point his fun was over give up the machine and get you're own[ just kidding but hes got one coming tomorrow ].couple of shot gunn shells and it was time to go.

next site was by myself its a construction site me and my hunting partner found about 2 months ago thats produced a confederate clip corner buckle weve hit it pretty hard solid red clay not a whole lot of brass but just tough ground to penetrate gb was 52 disc 10 sens 94. dug alot of deep small brass in the red clay then got a nice smooth hit that read 69 at about 5 inches i pulled an eagle I coat size on edge WOW! dosent seem like much but you've got to know this Georgia red clay is a depth killer ground is so dense the transmitted frequency has a time penetrating it.Also pulled a zinc mason jar lid ou from under abunch od square nails thats been missed numerous time due to masking. could of easily been a plate.

All in all this is one sweet machine to run that really produces. I would mention other detectors that ive used on these site but im not trying to start a war the way I see it you've got to stay with the latest technology in todays hunted sites.I would rate this detector as the best value for the money right now for relic hunting i know ive niot got alot of hours on it but i can tell with a detector pretty quick if its got what it takes for me.[maybe not for you].

I took a peek in side the box and theres really nothing in there just a circuit board about the size of a credit card but what i saw was impressive quality everthing neatly and securely packaged.and there is RF shielding sprayed inside the box with a ground wire from the circuit board adhered to it this might be the reason for the stability might want to check yalls thats having problems and see if the sprays in there.

Going to take it to a house site in the morning where I got a 2 piece snake bucle last month thats been hit pretty good see if there a confederate button in there. ill keep yall posted on tomorrows field test.
Take Care [again a great forum]

P.S
I usually dont promote or encourage others about detectors on the forums or post up my finds but I feel that this machine needs to be talked about so we can see future technology evolve from this starting point.

WTG Keith,

Nice day of hunting and enjoyed every thread from your post. Plus, You used the same setup as I use which I believe does help recover masked targets.

2+ tone with 10 disc and sensitivity set according to ground conditions, Excellent setup for relic hunting or extremely trashy older areas when digging all conductors above iron level.

Congrats, Paul (Ca)

I RUN HIGH 30'S DISC TO NOT HEAR NO IRON. U FELLAS LIKE TO HEAR SOME IRON TONES TO? THIS HELP IN LOTTA TRASH SITE?
H.

if your in some heavy iron nails im talking square nails 1850's type house site the ground is littered to say the least with a target ever inch or two so if your trying to find a real low conductor in all this iron if you disc too high you will possibly mask a good button mixed in the iron signals. the t2 ha such a quick target recovery it may not be as important as on other machines but it gives you more knowledge of whats going on other the coil if you get just a peep that might not break through with higher disc you can back up and try to for lack of better words wiggle the coil over the partial hit to see if you can at least get a good one way hit thats not just an iron false.( you will get an occasional iron false trying to run the sensitivity hot in iron but ive always felt that if you can contend with it. it gives you the little extra punch to pull the lower conductors).

This is strictly relic setup hunting. For coins you may get by with a higher disc and still pull coins out of iron. ive always said its easy to pull high conductor coins out of iron but two piece buttons are on another level were not too many detectors can achieve. but then again most machines are built for coin hunting that manufacturers fiqure 75% or more of their sales are aimed at.

if youve got a button that reads letsa say 50 on a i.d. scale and you iron running mid 20's and a machine averages a button and iron target say a nail well automaticly your getting a less than 40 i.d. so you'll never here the target if iron is disced out but if you can here the blended target with a super fast audio mode you've just improved you're odds immensely.

this is one of the T2 strong points.as ive seen it dose it better than whats currently offered on the detecting market without just digging every target which would take weeks of non stop digging in a house site to accomplish.

hope ive helped you understand in some sort of obscure way.

I agree with the other guys. I came accross it by accident. Lots of iron where I hunt and I sometimes would get a so so signal with disc at 40. After weeks of hunting I thought about it and decided to back disc down to "get a feel" for what was around the target. If I hear iron and then an even small so so signal nearby I would dig that over a small signal with no iron, for obvious reasons. But, sometimes the iron is overwhelming and I search the cleaner spots first.

Good comments guys. I learn so much here.

The more discrimination you use the more masking effect is created, For serious relic hunting or searching in older sites with allot of iron you want to hear it all.

Eventually, You'll tune out and not notice the abundance of low iron signals and only hear the good signals above iron. It takes a while but you'll eventually get used to all the noise.

I search in the 2+ audio mode with discrimination set as lowest possible if the ground allows, Normally at 10+ or even lower. This allows allot of iron to be heard which helps enhance the detector to reduce masking and capture the weaker signals masked by iron, It works!
