T2 INITIAL IMPRESSIONS AND SOME THOUGHTS

Hello everyone been lurking on here for awhile contemplating a t2 purchase.decided to get one and it arrived yesterday. havent had a chance to use in the field but plan on using it starting sunday i usually hunt about 40-50 hours a week when i find a spot.anyhow the t2 is built very sturdy buy todays standards probably better than whats offered by the other manufacturers.i see great quality control on this unit I would venture to say there put together here in the states just for this very reason i might be wrong.no shaft wobble to squeaky poles on this unit.handles like a dream also with the weight balance.just a great feeling good looking machine.ive played with it a little in my yard and some bench testing and i must say at this point machine seems really impressive not complicated at all to set up and run. ive seen some statements about no last setting save feature but with the ease of set up why would it be an issue. i fiddle with my old knob machines alot and double check eveytime i turn one on so i see no complaint here.i strictly relic hunt here in the atlanta georgia area mainly the west side of atlanta mostly looking for house sites on the march routes. Places like this are loaded with iron so you need a machine to pick the good targets out of the iron.i usually use a 1236 fisher with silencer off for this job its the best ive seen at pulling low conductors out of nails with relative ease compared to other so called relic detectors.then i use a musketeer for the deeper relics away from the iron.just from bench testing the t2 seems to be exceptional at this task even better than 1236 eagle button behind a nail still comes through with high tone on the 2+ setting.plus the id matches it this is quite a feat if it will do it in the ground this could easily be a detector to contend with.plus depth seems above average on airtest dont know what will happen in the ground on masking and depth. they both have their place at different times i would love to have one machine to fill my needs instead 2-3.maybe this is it .we'll see in a few days and I'll report back on my findings.mind you im not brand loyal Im just relic crazy and ill use whatever gets them in my collection.would also like to metion this is a great forum that seems to not be biased to the extreme.hope to have more info and if anyone has any info they would like to share email me or post it up.

p.s.
unit seems very stable even at a 80 sens.

Hey Keith...

770-547-7024

Give me a call if you are able to get out Saturday. Going the dome on Sunday but there is alway's next week if you''d like to go. I have a T2 also, been using it for about a month and i'll be glad to show you what i've learned with it. If you can ever dime the sens to 99 you'll get a good bump in depth but 90 will get you about 4" more than 70. The TID is off on 3b and Dp but it's right on in 2+, 3, and 4. I usually run my disc at about 25 but if it's really trashy i'll run it at 40 and still find the good stuff. It truly is the most comfortable machine I have ever used. It will also read a dime different from a quarter and silver different still. My GT reads dimes and quarters the same. I think you'll like it.

Would love to go out for a bit.

The T2 should be a perfect unit for you. I do similar relic-type hunting in iron loaded sites here in New England. The coil may be the best one I've ever used, & it's higher frequency makes it real hot on mid-conductors like desireable buttons. You will also be amazed at how it hits hard on tiny items like a drop of lead or a BB at depth.....
A fun detector all around...

We stand behind you with the T-2, It is a neat light detector with allot of guts.

Thanks again,

The 1236 and Musketeer are two of my favorite machines and for the exact reasons you mentioned. Look forward to your reports.
