That's right.......a T2 find on a C$-Edge forum. The T2 is part of the Fisher Family now, & rocks as a detector. I will be using it at the DIV. Sad to say, my ID-Edge is collecting dust now
But, anyhow......

Some may remember this "Irish Button" I dug at a cellar hole maybe a month or so ago? We called it "Irish Shine" & a real "Feaster" for the "book" . I remember I was upset that the cool looking cellar hole didn't produce a large cent or nice silver coin. Only the cruddy shield nickle & this button that didn't appear too old, or military.
Well, I got a letter from Mark Parker from W&E magazine yesterday saying it was a very rare "Irish Repeal Movement" button
This attempt at Ireland getting it's own kingdom ran from 1839-1847, putting the button in that time range. Some of us had guessed the backmark looked about 1840....
The letter has an offer from a button dealer for $200, even though not having a shank on the back hurts it's value. That's a dealer offer, who buy's to re-sell so what's it really worth?
The letter also says they want to feature the button in an upcoming issue with alot more background about the "Irish Repeal"....
Turns out it IS one for the books, as this type was unlisted. To think we were upset that we didn't get a Large cent that day The last 2 cellar holes have produced 2 buttons I've been offered $200 ea. for (The "Revenue Cutter" was the other one). Coin collectors are not interested in pourous, dug coppers. I luv to find 'em, but they are basically conversation pieces.......Buttons are where it's at, & the T2 likes 'em. But, I'm not selling or anything...
There may be another one out there for Rob (sitting on the chimney stones). We are not done with this site by any means.....
But, anyhow......
