T2 Dimensions Question

Brawler_7

New member
Hi guys,

If anyone who owns a T2 could you do me a huge favor and tell me whether the battery compartment and the display are removable for easier travel? And please could someone measure the lengths I marked "?" in the picture, I want to buy a new one but want to be certain that it fits into my suitcase (It's a small suitcase). I am most interested in the longest part when it is fully dissembled.

Thank you ahead of time, and I really appreciate your help.

brawler!..i am sure you can get the control housing off, however i believe it entails
"defeating" the seal around the two halfs,so you can get at the mounting hardware inside.
doing this may "violate " the terms of your 5 year warranty,so that being said,"caveat emptor"
should be "first and foremost" in your mind!

Thanks J.T. I thought that would be a problem since the battery housing is wired to the LCD control housing.

Come on guys everyone is usually so helpful on here, anyone? There have been over 80 views on this, and nobody is willing to get out a measuring tape and measure a few things, it's 2 minutes of work?

I know it's a weird question, and everyone is probably asking why not just get a bigger suitcase, but the airline I already bought the ticket with has a strict size requirements for their carry on, and i need it as my carry on because the time between my connecting flights is less then an hour and they might not have enough time to transfer bags from one plane to another, or i might even miss my flight, so i cant afford to check anything in because when i arrive at my first destination, i have to catch another flight to another country the next day, so if my T2 gets lost i won't be able to bring it with me on my trip to hunt with, or pick it when it is found.

Anyone please?

From metal rod connection point to Battery holder end 23 1/2 inches to where your line is drawn.. From connection point to base of battery holder is 25 1/4"
It isn't straight up and down on the holder area.

10" on the meter head and hand holder...........

so your line 23 1/2 inches
from your line to base of holder is 25 1/4" angled down to the bottom
Hand and meter is 10"

Battery holder is wired of course..and has a screw holding it in front and one inside I believe...It could be removed but might do damage to wires and hard to get lined back up for reinstall.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ELTON!!!!!!

Also thanks jim tn and jmaryt for putting some life in this thread!

Turns out that that the T2 is 4'' too long to fit in to my suitcase. I am really glad I didn't end up trading or selling my CZ just yet, as I wouldn't have a detector to take with me on my trip. The CZ just barely fits in my suitcase. I am so glad i didn't end up spending a whole lot of money on something that i wouldn't have been able to take with me. But i am coming back to US in December looking for a T2, maybe i will get the new LTD or maybe i will pick up someone's older T2 because they got the LTD. Either way I am determined to get on this Teknetics forum!
