T-Rex users, what type of handle

did you get? Went down to the hardware store but couldn't find one that fits. Did you get one that is tapered and just cut it or did you get one whose diameter is the same from tip to tip? Thanks, John

I got a fiberglass handled rake at HD, sawed it off and got a stainless bolt and locking nut. I also got a 1in. diam.. dowel piece and marine epoxied a 5in piece into the end and sealed up the end. There was a little play so I crammed a nylon washer inside and put one on the outside. This is an experiment for me and so far it's holding up well!

I cut the taper and bedded in marine JB Weld. So far its been great.

I have the 8" and the handle is dark green,Ames, and is pretty much the same diameter all the way. Cut it off where it meets the rake.

I got the 8 inch water version. I came close to the dry and maybe I should have, but I am happy with it.

I thought about the dry also but mostly hunt in the water and the wet should keep the target in the scoop better than the dry because of the extended plate. Thanks.....

I have the 8"dry works great in water. Handle made of fiberglass from shovel than I cut in halr to use as a travel rod and put an aluminum sleeve in middle for support. T-REX Scoop is really nice mine weighs just under 5 lbs. Don Tyler Merrimack,NH
