T-2 DD coil is one quick coil......

Hello T-2 users, Fisher lurkers and future T-2 owners,

I've been experimenting with different detectors and coils, Concentric and DD both large and small. The closest detector to have the performance of the T-2 is the MXT fitted with the 6"X10" DD coil, Both detectors designed by Dave Johnson.

The T-2 does have an edge over the MXT and not by much and in the areas of a little faster recovery speed and separation, The T-2 is one fast machine.

I know allot of you T-2 users are looking forward to a smaller coil and I hope when it comes out it's a DD and not a concentric, Maybe a 4"X6" DD would be a nice addition. I've found the concentric coils slow down the recovery speed on a detector so hopefully the next T-2 coil is a DD and being designed by Dave Johnson will surely be another winner.

If you ask the engineers will tell you that the detector was designed AROUND the coil and as such all future coils will be DD,

That's good to hear any future coil for the T-2 will be a DD, going with a concentric would be stepping backwards.
