sword help

I was going detecting at a CW Union camp site. While visiting with the owner of the property, he said he had a CW sword, would I like to see it. I said sure. He brought out a nickel plated ceremonial or presentation sword with a lot of detailing on it. At the base of the blade, it says Craddock Company Kansas City, Mo. It has a "star of David"(6 pointed star) stamped into the base of the blade as well. It also has PROVED stamped into the base. I think it's more likely post war in manufacture. Any of you guys out there sword guys that might be able give me a little info on this sword. I appreciate the help.
Thanks
Jim

Jim..The sword does sound like post war. I am aware that the name Craddock Co was a uniform company in KC, Mo as late as 1935. Also the marking you refer to has over time has been associated with Solingen Brand steel products from Germany, mainly swords. See the link below regarding this marking. I hope this info helps...cwrifle

Thanks for the help. I didn't know the significance of the star and the "proved" stamped on the blade. Interesting!
