Switching from White's to Garrett

Just ordered a brand new AT Pro Fall package from Kelly co, and should arrive by Saturday...This will be the first brand new detector that I have owned in 4 years...Last was a Bounty Hunter Land Star...lol...Now I ain't pooin' on BH (I miss that Land Star sometimes), but I think this AT Pro is gonna shine. It also will open up some hunting possibilities that I had not tried in the past, such as shallow water hunting (Now that is gonna be funny to watch...This big guy with a detector under water. I will be sure to take pics). I am drooling watching videos and reading reviews...Just hope I do not get a leaker...Hope they have fixed that problem.

HH,

I think you made a good choice. I got my AT Pro a little more than a week ago from the same place. I have only gotten to use it the past 2 days, because we just had 8 straight days of rain (I know it is water proof, but I don`t like playing in the rain). I am very happy with it so far, but I am still learning. The last 2 days I was hunting a 100+ year old farm, 2 - 4 hour hunts. Tomorrow I am going to the lake to do some shallow wading to see if I can turn up something. This will be the first time I have detected in the water. Good luck with the new machine. As far as leaking, I noticed one of my cables (coil or headphones) the O-ring on the cable connector did not want to go into the plug on the housing. I had to work it a little to get it in. I could see it leaking if I had not seen it when I was putting it together.

I think its a typo as the detectors you used before were Tecknetics not Whites.

Can't see any reason flor using in the rain as heck its an underwater unit.

As far as hunting in the water thats where the gold rings are ought to sum it up.

Lot of info on the AT pro if you search the web so it should cut down your learning period..

Good luck with your new equipment as Garrett makes a good product and stands behind it..

Thanks guys for the encouragement, and I am like a kid waiting on Christmas morning....Hurry up FedUP!!!...Friday Friday Friday!!!...Prolly wont come till late afternoon, but weather is supposed to be OK...maybe I will do a night hunt...

HH,

me too, I did rid of two White's XLT MD yesterday. Fedex suppose to delivery a brand new Garrett AT Pro with Garrett water metal detector jack connector today ! Hurry FEDEX

Well, I like Whites detectors. I had an old MXT that I had to send out for repairs a couple times but it was a dang good machine. I finally sold it.
The only think I don't like about Whites is their upper end machines are TO HEAVY!!!!!!!!
