Swingy Thingy

Has anyone used or know about this type of harness with a bungi cord attached to help take the load off of your arm and back. I was thinking about getting one. Does it really work? Please explain!! Thanks Steve

I got one last year at the beginning of the fall season and I have to admit I was a bit leary at first, but it does relieve the strain on my arm and shoulder. When you install it to the upper rod section, it should just be front heavy towards the coil end when hanging freely from the bungee. Best $30 I have spent.

Hope this helps with your decision.

yes i have one works great for me with my excalibur 2 on an anderson shaft with a hip mounted unit..:clapping::thumbup::detecting:

Swinging a 1270 with 10.5 coil that thing is great no more arm pain or lower back pain can swing it all day. Only thing i didn't buy mine I made it from the ad pic, have a canvas sewing machine but you can do it buy hand its easy,If you want my pic let me know

Hey shooter, i would like to see a pic of the one you made,if it helps the shoulder, arm and back,i could sure use one!! thanks, H.H. Kevin

I used snaps to attach it to my belt, the Store bought one has a clip on it, thought it might keep coming off the snaps are great. If anyone need particular close-up let me know. Made it from stuff around the house.

No offence shooter your harness looks well made and i'm sure it works but
A few things to take into consideration in the making of a bungee.
The closer the point of anchorage to the actual shoulder the less resistence it will give on the swing and give a complete and even arc with little or no restriction, as with your arm.
Having it low down will give resistence either one way or the other, in the picture swinging to the detectorists right will cause the strain to come on the chord, to the left not so much
A longer chord will also give a wider arc with less resistence although still supporting the weight, all you should need to do is guide it from one side to the other.
Having the point of anchorage at one side will also keep the detector at that side when you let go, if its in the middle that is where it will go when you let go and will get in the way when digging etc.
Clipping the harness to your trousers is a great idea in the dry but its no good when its raining as to clip it on you would need to raise your jacket and end up with a wet bum as its not covered
Please dont take offence, these are only suggestions to make a good thing better
