Swingy Thingy Link Has Me All Tied Up!

Dang

Active member
A kind forum member sent me his Swingy Thingy cause the weight of my detector tires my out fast. The directions that came with it didn't do much good
cause the picture was too dang dark to see it clearly. So I went to this Swingy Thingy link but I'm even more confused.......and before I even get the the first strap over my shoulder
I'm too tired to even go detecting......
see for yourself......

Here's a photo of one of our Canadian friends using a swingy-thingy, he looks happy so it must work okay:).

www.kamakazi.com/ Is where I found the correct pictures of the ST. It's pretty clear. The picture of the guy in the post above does not seem to have it on correctly. The wider webbing fastens to your pants or belt with a 'suspender' type cam lock closer right above your left rear pants pocket . That belt then comes over the right shoulder and lays on your chest. Grab the smaller webbing and pull it under your left arm pit and clip it into the D-ring that is on the wide webbing belt that went over your right shoulder. Attach the bungee to you detector with the hooked end and then clip the safety pin type fastener on the other end of the bungee to that D-ring that is in front of you about mid chest high. You don't want the strap out to its maximum length because you will then be suspending the weight from your waist. Not efficient that way. About breast hight is where you want it. Adjust the length of the bungee, by using the slider on the end, so the coil just glides above the detecting surface and all you have to do is steer the the thing with your right arm. I'm 66 and can swing my ET all day if the finds are good enough and keep my interest piqued. Jim

Here's my homemade version which is simply the strap off a computer case with a rubber bungee that cradles around the grip of the detector and attaches over my back to my belt via a snaphook.

:clapping: Well done Slingshot!

happy is as happy does!

How about using one of those heavy duty retractable key chains. The good ones with the actual chain. Clip it to your belt then to the detector. It might be a simple cheap way to relieve some weight? What do you think?
