i have a conquistador and would like to now the right swing speed

When i'm looking for deep stuff, I slow down to a sweep speed that is 3-5 seconds per arc. When I know that nothing is deep, I speed up much quicker, increase the sensetivity and raise my coil a bit. I suppose describing how I scan is like trying to describe how to eat. You'll find out the more you do it. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

Cliff,
Take a coin or two and place on the ground. Start sweeping you coil across it. Start with a slow speed, and gradually raise your coil until you loose the signal.
Now start over with a little faster sweep, raising the coil until you loose the signal.
Experiment until you know what to expect from your machine at different speeds.
