Sweet Minelab success

After buying a White's BHID 300 detector for water detecting, I sold it and bought the detector I should have bought in the first place: a Minelab Excalibur.

I have been unable to use it because of recent surgery, then on Thanksgiving i thought: who cares about those stitches! I'm going to the lake!

So two hours yesterday and two today I hunted two modern swim areas. The pic shows my finds, which were 32 pennies (many wheats), and assorted other coins, an old tax token, a key, some shotgun brass and a plated ring. (No gold, but the ring was encouraging!)

Here is the best part: NO JUNK!!! OK, I got fooled by ONE bottlecap. NO pulltabs, No screwcaps, no nails, no magical hotrocks. And this was my first time out!

I don't work for Minelab or sell their equipment, but let me ask you, if you don't own a Minelab... WHY NOT?
