I was reading a post on the Whites TDI classroom that i thought was important and should be read by new members especially. Reg was explaining sweep speep and filters as they relate to targets. If you get a chance take a look. This really applies to most machines.... but i think its important how target size and sweep speed are affected by filers.

im not sure you can relate whites sweep speed to mine labs i belive they are different to get depth on whites xlt you need a fast sweep speed just the nature of the beast but with my mine lab explorer se and fbs tech. slow sweep is the key to good deep targets being dected my last detector was the xlt a fine detector stable and accurate id but not as good as my se pro by long shot and i enjoy the slower more relaxed pace of my se verces the fact tiring sweep speed of the xlt although you could cover lots of ground with the xlt but also left lots for my explorer

Teleman... you missed the point of my post or didnt read Regs post. My point was sweep speed can make a difference since filters do various things to targets and not only how fast you sweep the coil ... but the size will affect the signal you may receive or NOT receive. These deeper targets change the size the detector sees and you may need to adjust your swing to ensure the detector doesnt filter out the short or weak signals.
