sweep speed of eagle sl 2

midnight rider

New member
hey i just picked up a eagle sl 2 made in 91 will i have to sweep it fast i am not used to a fast speed i hunt lots of trash lots in town any other tips would be great thanks hal

If I remember right, I think about 2 feet per second worked good on the SL.

Medium sweep will find you alot of stuff. If your hunting trashy areas, invest in the 650 coil. That is what I use on my Eagle II SL

If you log on to whites web site you can download the entire instruction manual for you eagle 2 sl from the link, In the manual it state that you can actually change the sweep speed from normal to fast. there is also an advanced options insruction manual that I had to download seperatly. I do believe the link site is called safemanuals.com. Good luck hunting!

Medium sweep. These detectors that do many things in software, need a little time to process and work. Dont try to rush it, but there is no need to creep.
If you are getting bored then you are swinging too slow, if you find it hard to control (especially at the ends of the sweep) then you are too fast. Work to make it smooth and even, while hugging the ground. If you do, the speed will take care of itself.
