sweep distance and sweep speed

Hi all, I see alot of post about sweep speeds and picking the right filter for your particular ground and sweep speed. My question is what would be considered a slow, medium or fast sweep speed as far as distance of sweep and seconds it takes to sweep that distance. Thanks all.

p80, I mostly use the 5 and ten filters depending on my hunting method. When in the 10 high filter I want to hunt fast to cover a lot of area and cherry pick targets.Im right handed and swing slightly from the left of the center of my body around to where my right arm is extended straight out to my right side (no idea what the feet measurement would be) and cover this distance in 2-3 seconds.Im also using a faster recovery delay with this method of hunting and set it about 40-45.
When Im running the 5 band or 5 high filter its a complete different story because Ive already been over the area with the above search method getting as many targets out of the way as I can and am going for a more methodical search for deeper targets.Generally,my sweep speed in this method is anywhere from 4-6 seconds but I'm not swinging quite as wide of an arc as I do with my fast search method. With this slower search I like to keep my coil pressed against the grass (scrubbing the grass) and swinging clear out to my right side would kill my arm in short order.Depending on what I hear on a single swing,I might reswing the arc several times and may spend much more than 4-6 seconds on a single arc wiggling the coil over a suspected target. My recovery delay is set much slower, usually anywhere from 80-120.
None of this is set in stone,I know guys that swing much faster than I do using the 5 band or high filters and are digging targets. These are just my methods of hunting a site.

Making a project out of learning these adjustments will help you immeasurably. I haven't been hunting in areas that need the 5 filters (and pretty much stay with 10) but have worked the 5 and sweep changes to learn the feel. (Pulled bird shot from 6" with a 6" coil !) Somethin". If you want to do jewelry, do 10, safe sensitivities, and moderate to a little fast delay. Moving through ground with tight info is sweet.
